Family Activities Guide

Bayside Bowl, 58 Alder Street, Portland

If you need a fun and classic family activity, Bayside Bowl is the place.  The only bowling alley in downtown Portland, with 20 lanes, great food and a rooftop deck with views of the city. 🔗

Treehouse Toys, 5 Alfred St, Biddeford

The ultimate toy store filled with colorful games, stuffed animals, books, and so much more.  🔗

Children's Museum, 250 Thompson's Point, Portland

The fabulous museum of learning and creativity is home to a science center, a theater, a maker studio space and lots of places to play inside or out.  Spend a day exploring and letting the kids lead the way.  🔗

Mackworth Island, Andrews Ave, Falmouth

Just north of Portland, Mackworth Island is known for its magic.  Fairy circles can be seen along the island's trails and visitors are encouraged to create fairy houses of their own.  The loop around the island is about 1.5 miles making it very doable for kids.  (For a more local but MUCH smaller experience, visit the OP Fairy Garden across from The Temple.). 🔗

Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field, 271 Park Ave, Portland

Take the family out the ball game!  What could feel mmore summery than. a good old fashioned game of baseball.  Grab some red snappers (New England's hot dog speciality) and some cold beverages and enjoy!  🔗

Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad, 49 Thames Street, Portland

Take a ride on these historical train cars and enjoy sweeping views of Casco Bay as you travel around the Eastern Promenade - one of Portland's well-known scenic views and parks.  🔗
